Beading Finished!

December 6, 2008

Finally, an update! I've been working pretty steadily on the beading for this gown, and after some weeks, it's finally finished.
What I had to do first was apply the bugle beads in zigzag pattern, then go back over each row of beads and add the seed beads that outlined the bugles. O.o It took forever, but I think the end product was worth it. To the right you can see the one finished side (right side) and the naked bugles, before the seed beads were added (left side).

I still need to finished the shoulder treatment on one side of the bodice, which is why there are still some straight pins in some of the pictures below, and I need to grommet the back. I'm still trying to make myself cover the rest of the grommet holes with buttonhole stitch, but it's not something I'm looking forward to. So many layers to force that needle through! x.x
Anyway, there are more pictures of the beading below. The gown in over my panniers because I was lazy and didn't want to take them off the mannequin. :p
Pictures from left to right : Bodice, closeup front, closeup back, closeup back (different exposure)
