Just a little teaser for the shoot I had today with my dear friend, Erin. I finished the Burton-esque gown and we hit the Botanical Gardens. I ended up making a black taffeta petticoat with a wide pleated ruffle to go with the gown, and trimming the gown itself with black lace and some gold ruching I salvaged off of another gown. The stomacher was literally hot glued together last night, and is made of plastic cross-stitch canvas, beige twill, gold faux silk overlaid with black lace, and a bit of black braid.
The wig had laid dormant and half-finished for years, and I didn't have time to finish it before the shoot, so I clipped on one of those curly clip-on ponytails at the nape of my neck and brushed all the curls up over the unfinished parts. The rest of the back was hidden with the black ostrich feathers, which I pulled off an old Mardi Gras mask and pinned in my hair about 5 minutes before walking out the door.
More photos soon!
