I've been dipping back into research on Heian era stuffs, and I thought it was high time to update the list of kasane that have visual matches online. I always like to see an outfit in living colour, it seems to make it stick in my mind much more than just reading a list of colours and their corresponding seasons. I've always been big on visual aides, though, it just seems to help me retain information better.
Don't neglect to visit Part 1, which has more kasane no irome examples, and some notes on colour names, forbidden colours, and other kasane resources,

Hanada-iro no Nioi (lightening indigo color)(unknown)
I'm a little on the fence with this one. I've seen it a couple of times scattered around the web, and, if I remember correctly, it was in the Kyoto Textile Museum's Genji exhibit, but there doesn't seem to be any documentation backing it up as a historical kasane. It may be that this is a modern invention, since blue is pretty much unheard of in Heian garments. Still, I'm including it because it's darn pretty.

As always, the hunt continues for more photo examples of kasane no irome. Most of these new example matchups are thanks to the Kasane no Irome board on Pinterest, which has a nice collection of Heian court garb images.
